What is the Estonian cuisine - Nordic with a twist, a touch from Russian kitchen and a bit of German? Take a glimpse into its surprisingly vivid culinary scene during our Tallinn Food Tour. You’ll have 6~7 food & wine-stops combined with guided strolls on historical cobblestone streets of Tallinn Old Town.
Tallinn Food Tour combines city sightseeing with various food & drink - stops. This walking tour route is
based on Tallinn Old Town, so you will pass most of its main sights and churches on your way, as well as
you’ll have a couple of entrances. Tallinn Food Tour consists of around 6~7 food & drink stops. You'll have a taste of some local traditional and
modern food and some drinks. You will be served a pumpkin and parsnip puree soup, various traditional
food samples (jams, mustards, black rye bread) for snacks, you will try out some local drinks ("Kali" - malt
pop with no alcohol, "Kama" - a drink with mixture of various roasted grains with sour or curdled milk or kefir alike)and schnapps (Sea-Buckthorn schnapps), try out some open faced traditional for
Estonians sandwiches (spiced sprats and mushrooms), some sweets (marzipan with almond), which are
prepared by the ancient recipes dating back to 15th century, and also some locally produced wine (a berry or
grape wine). A food thematic gift (dried berries) will be given to every participant at the end of the tour! Please note that the food & wine stops and the menu can vary a bit! For cruise passengers the tour includes round-trip transportation from Tallinn Cruise Port to the old town and
back. Your arrival transfer will include short introductory tour through part of the city centre and around Tallinn
Old Town, which will be then followed by Tallinn Food Tour on foot. After about 3 hour food tour you'll have
some free time to stroll around in this magnificent city on your own (no guide). Approximately 1,5 hours prior
your cruise ship leaves Tallinn you'll have a private transfer from the pre-designated meeting point in Tallinn
Old Town to Tallinn Cruise Port gates (not guided).
* Our scheduled Tallinn Food Tour starts by gathering in front of Tallinn Tourism Information Centre
(Niguliste Street 2). Our guide will meet & greet you there with a sign "Food Sightseeing Estonia”.
** For cruise passengers the tour starts by gathering outside the Tallinn Cruise Port Passenger gates. An average walking distance
from your cruise ship to the spot where the food tour starts is 200~300 m.
